Results from UU's Member survey 2023

Towards the end of our last working year (2022-23), we sent out a survey to all members of the association to gather information about how they think the association performed during the working year. We got a total of 12 responses to the survey between the 2nd to the 30th of April 2023.

Generally, the results are positive but there are several things that can be improved and it would have been good to get more responses to the survey. The main results of the survey are outlined below.

83% of respondents gave a score of 7 or higher when asked what they thought about the work or performance of our association in this past year.

75% of respondents gave a score of 7 or higher when asked how they felt about the performance of the association outwards or externally this past year (e.g. media coverage, social media, participation in events, etc.).

50% of respondents gave a score of 7 or higher when asked how they felt about the performance of the association internally this past year (e.g. committee work, events, communication, flow of information, etc.).

Among the things that respondents thought went well this past year were: our two National Assemblies, diverse events, the newsletter, visibility in the media, trustworthiness/legitimacy of the NGO outwards, and many opportunities for members.

Among the things that respondents thought did not go so well this past year or could be improved were: too much or unevenly distributed workload/pressure, application processes for various apportunities, ways to participate in the work of the NGO, and advertising of regular committee meetings.

Among suggestions from respondents regarding what could be improved were: reminding people that this is volunteer work, have more casual/fun events, have a financial committee to oversee grant applications and other relevant financial things, and organize more targeted protests.

Some of the things that respondents mentioned as The Higlight of the Year were: the Climate Festival, the National Assembly on Circular Economy, the National Assembly on Climate Change, and the event post-COP27 and COP15. The previous board was also congratulated by respondents for their hard work and achievements in the past year.

We want to thank all those who responded to the survey and we will make sure to use all this valuable information to improve the work of our association internally and externally in this upcoming year!
